Term & Conditions
Please ensure that you read these terms and conditions as they contain important information regarding our decluttering and organising project. By signing the further document named “Client Agreement” you are stating that you understand and agree to the following terms and conditions.

Confidentiality and Privacy

Declutter with Helen offers complete confidentiality and discretion, and will never divulge information to any third parties without your consent.

The handling of your personal information is governed by my Privacy Policy.

Declutter with Helen is fully compliant with all relevant legislation. By entering into contract with Declutter with Helen you agree that your personal details will be held securely, to be used only in connection with the services carried out by Declutter with Helen.

Cancellation Policy

I appreciate that both you and myself may need to reschedule a session you have booked. All rescheduled sessions must be completed within two months of the original session time and date.

There is no charge for rescheduling a session. Cancellations made more than 72 hours in advance of the session will be refunded in full. Should you cancel within less than three clear calendar days’ notice and are not looking to reschedule your session to another time and date your deposit will not be refunded.

Access

Please ensure there is good access immediately outside your home and inside your home. Declutter with Helen is unable to move furniture due to reasons of health and safety.

Should the working area be considered unsafe Declutter with Helen reserves the right to cancel the session without refund.

Best Advice

Decluttering focuses on deciding which of your possessions and items you want to keep. Through this process, you may find yourself parting with possessions or items that you decide you no longer need. The decision to keep or discard an item is entirely yours. I will only guide you to help you determine what you need in your home. Advice is given in good faith and it is always your decision to accept guidance on whether or not to keep particular possessions. Declutter with Helen cannot therefore accept responsibility for the consequences of such decisions. Declutter with Helen cannot be held liable for any possessions or items that have been discarded.

Removal of Possessions

I encourage recycling items where possible or donations to registered charities. You may even choose to sell possessions or items that you no longer need. Declutter with Helen is unable to provide a valuation service, nor do I have expertise to identify items of special value or rarity. In any event, possessions or items disposed of are your sole responsibility. Items to be removed from your premises, either for disposal or to other locations, must be at your own discretion. Disposal will not take place without your authorisation. Declutter with Helen is committed to caring for the environment and any items will be disposed of in an environmental manner, for example recycled, sold on or taken to local charity shops.

Items which cannot be taken to charity will need to be disposed of by yourself, either using a licenced waste carrier, skip or taken to the recycling centre nearest you.

Photography

Declutter with Helen might use before and after photographs to support a client's organisation journey.

These photographs will remain the property of Declutter with Helen and will only be made visible to others with client consent.

Declutter with Helen might use these photographs as example of works, and to inspire others on this website and on social media platforms. Photographs are always anonymised; the client cannot be identified through them, except if I have received your permission to do so.

Insurance

Declutter with Helen provides in-home service and whilst every care will be taken with your possessions whilst in your home, Declutter with Helen cannot be held liable for any direct or consequential loss or damage. It is your responsibility to ensure you have adequate and appropriate insurance for your possessions.

Declutter with Helen holds Public Liability and Professional Indemnity Insurance up to £1,000,000 which is activated upon signature of the client agreement.

Hours of Work

Core hours of work are:

·       Monday to Friday 10am – 5pm

·       Saturday 10am – 4pm, will be charged at a higher rate.

Decluttering and organising sessions are possible outside of these hours but will be subject to additional fees.

Fees

Declutter with Helen will provide you with an estimate following your initial consultation. By signing the Client Agreement, you agree to pay these fees.

Estimates are made based on an assessment of how many hours a job will take to complete.  However, the nature of this work is such that it is not always possible to predict exactly how long a given job will take.  If it becomes clear that the initial time estimate is going to be exceeded, I will discuss options with you prior to continuing past the initially stated (and agreed) time. Any additional time agreed between Declutter with Helen and you will be documented and signed off prior to the additional work commencing.

Travel Costs & other Expenses

No travel expenses will be charged for work completed at properties within 15 miles of CF71. For work undertaken further than 15 miles from CF71, travel expenses will be agreed in advance and itemised on the proposal. The mileage will be taken from Google Maps.

Payment Terms

50% required deposit is payable immediately via BACS on receiving an accepted booking to secure the date for your decluttering session, with the balance due upon project completion.
